Before bringing the vehicle
Recheck the operator’s confirmed handover point and time, contact person and reference details. Make sure you have the preparation instructions and document list for the person attending. Do not use an address or arrangement from a different shipment without checking.
At handover
Ask how the vehicle condition, keys and items handed over will be recorded. If you see a difference between the actual condition and the record, clarify it before proceeding. Request the relevant copy or confirmation reference for your handover and keep it with the operator’s instructions.
Before the collector attends
Request current collection instructions; do not equate an estimated vessel arrival with permission to collect the car. If a representative will attend, confirm the identity evidence or authorisation required. Make sure they know the location, time, reference and how to contact the operator if details are unclear.
At collection
